Part 1: An Awkward Marriage

Series: Finding Your Way

Are You Hiding Your Faith?

Imagine an engaged couple—on the surface, everything looks perfect. She talks about her fiancé with love, and he’s everything a parent would want for their daughter. But when she’s out with friends, things shift. She distances herself from him, avoids talking about him, and even flirts with other guys. If you were the groom’s parents, wouldn’t you be concerned?

Now, here’s where it gets real—we are that bride. The church, the bride of Christ, loves to gather in worship, share testimonies, and grow in faith within safe spaces. But when we step into the world, we grow awkwardly silent. We hide our connection to Jesus, just like a bride turning her engagement ring inward. Statistics show that many believers agree evangelism is important, yet nearly half think sharing their faith with others is wrong. Do you see the disconnect?

In this powerful sermon, we dive into 2 Corinthians 5, where Paul—despite persecution—boldly proclaims his "why" for preaching the gospel. He reminds us that everyone we meet has an eternal destiny, and as Christ’s ambassadors, we have been given a mission: to represent Him and reconcile others to God. Yet, our urgency for comfort often outweighs our urgency for conversion.

This sermon isn’t just about theory—it’s about transformation. Why should we take this mission seriously? And next week, we’ll get into the how. Don’t miss this convicting and eye-opening message that challenges you to step beyond comfort and into calling. Are you ready to live boldly for Christ?
