Redeeming the Time: Partnering for God’s Kingdom

This Sunday marked the beginning of our Bridgepoint Global Summit, a time where we focus on how God is using our church to reach people locally, nationally, and around the world. Over the next three weeks, we will be highlighting our partnerships that help share the Gospel, care for children, strengthen families, and start churches.

We were honored to welcome Honi “Honey” Deaton, Executive Director of Love INC of the Treasure Valley, as our special guest. Through her testimony and the Love INC video, we were reminded how God is working through local churches to meet real needs in our community.

Love INC partners with churches to help individuals and families find not only immediate help, but long-term hope. Through food, clothing, financial assistance, mentoring, and spiritual encouragement, they walk alongside people as they move toward stability and independence. We are grateful for their ministry and for the opportunity to support them through prayer, service, and generosity.

Bridgepoint continues to partner with many organizations such as Love INC, Boise Rescue Mission, Treasure Valley Path, Garfield Elementary, and through initiatives like 30 Ways in 30 Days. Our desire is that our neighborhood and community are better because the church is present. We want our doors to be open and our hearts ready to serve.

Walking Wisely in Our Time

In Ephesians 5:15–16, Paul challenges believers:

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

To “redeem” means to buy up, to make the most of, to seize opportunity. Time is valuable, and God calls us to use it wisely. We are not meant to be passive observers of life—we are called to actively invest our lives in what matters most.

Each day presents moments of opportunity: to encourage someone, to help a neighbor, to share Christ, to serve, to give, to pray. These moments are gifts from God. When we let them pass, they are gone.

Living with Urgency

Paul reminds us that we live in difficult and broken times. Our culture continues to drift from truth, and many people are hurting, confused, and searching for hope. Jesus described the enemy’s work clearly:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10)

But Jesus came to bring life—abundant and eternal life.

This is why redeeming the time matters. People are at the center of God’s heart, and every opportunity to love, serve, and share Jesus has eternal significance.

Knowing God’s Will

Ephesians 5:17 tells us:

“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

God’s will begins with knowing Jesus and living for Him. From there, He uses our experiences, passions, and compassion to guide us toward where we can serve best.

For some, that may mean volunteering with Love INC.For others, helping students, visiting seniors, serving families, mentoring, giving, or praying faithfully.

When God places a thought in your heart—“Maybe I should…”—that may be an invitation to redeem the time.

Making an Eternal Difference

Through Christ, lives are changed. Families are restored. Hope is renewed. Futures are redirected. And God invites us to be part of that work.

What we do today—how we serve, give, love, and partner—creates impact that reaches far beyond this moment. It is generational. It is eternal.

Thank you, Bridgepoint, for your generosity, your prayers, your willingness to serve, and your heart for our community and our world. Together, let us continue to redeem the time for the glory of God and the good of others.
