The Story So Far:
God commanded His prophet Jonah to go and warn the wicked city of Nineveh about His coming judgment and offer them a chance to repent. Jonah has refused to go, and instead has run away.
God sends a storm to prevent Jonah from running away. The sailors end up worshipping
God in spite of Jonah, not because of Jonah. Jonah experiences God’s mercy in a most unusual way.
God delivers Jonah on dry ground. Jonah is given another opportunity to obey God’s command.
Jonah is obedient to God’s command and proclaims the message to the Ninevites.
