Ask 10 people who Jesus is and you might get 10 different answers: a good teacher. A prophet. A spiritual guide. A revolutionary. A myth. A Savior.
But here’s the truth: Jesus is not just one idea among many—He is the foundation of the Christian faith, and the answer to our deepest needs.
So let’s talk about it. Who is Jesus? Did He actually live? Did He really die—and rise again? And what does that mean for you?
Jesus: A Real Person in Real History
Before we talk faith, let’s talk facts.
→ Yes, Jesus Was a Real Person
Historians—Christian and non-Christian alike—agree: Jesus of Nazareth lived in the first century and was crucified under Roman rule. Writers like Tacitus and Josephus, who weren’t followers of Jesus, still documented His life, His impact, and His death.
→ Jesus Taught, Healed, and Stirred Up Crowds
Even skeptics admit: something about Jesus was different. People followed Him. Lives were changed. The ripple effects of His ministry are still shaping the world today.
→ The Cross Wasn’t a Footnote
Jesus’ crucifixion is one of the most documented events of the ancient world. He didn’t die as a random casualty—He died with purpose.
What the Bible Says About Jesus
The Bible doesn’t just tell us about Jesus—it shows us who He really is.
→ Jesus Is the Son of God
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…” – John 3:16
He’s not just another religious figure—He’s God in the flesh, sent to rescue us.
→ Jesus Is the Word Made Flesh
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” – John 1:14
Jesus didn’t stay distant. He stepped into our story—fully God, fully human.
→ Jesus Is the Savior
“You are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21
His name literally means "God saves." Saving is not what He does—it’s who He is.
Did Jesus Sin?
It’s a fair question. If He was human, was He tempted? Could He mess up?
→ Jesus Faced Temptation
“He was tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin.” – Hebrews 4:15
He knows what it’s like to be tempted, weary, frustrated, misunderstood. But He never gave in.
→ His Sinlessness Matters
“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us…” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
Because Jesus was perfect, He could carry our sin—and make a way for forgiveness.
Why Did Jesus Die?
Jesus’ death wasn’t an accident or a symbol. It was a rescue mission.
→ Sin Separated Us from God
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23 “The wages of sin is death.” – Romans 6:23
Sin broke the relationship between us and God—and we couldn’t fix it on our own.
→ Jesus Took Our Place
“He was pierced for our transgressions… by His wounds we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5
The cross wasn’t just brutal—it was beautiful. It was love in action.
→ Love Is Why He Did It
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
He didn’t wait for us to clean up. He came right into the mess.
But That’s Not Where the Story Ends
Jesus didn’t stay dead. He rose from the grave—and that changes everything.
“If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile.” – 1 Corinthians 15:17
Because He lives, we can have new life, too.
Bible Verses That Show Who Jesus Is
John 14:6 – “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
Colossians 1:15-17 – “In Him all things hold together.”
Revelation 1:8 – “I am the Alpha and the Omega… who is, and who was, and who is to come.”
How Should We Respond to Jesus?
It’s one thing to learn about Jesus. It’s another to respond to Him.
1. Recognize Your Need
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart… you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
We’ve all messed up. We all need grace. That’s where Jesus comes in.
2. Repent and Believe
“Repent… so that your sins may be wiped out.” – Acts 3:19
Turn from your old way. Trust in Him. He’s already done the heavy lifting.
3. Start the Relationship
This isn’t religion—it’s relationship. Talk to Him. Walk with Him. Learn from Him. Surround yourself with people who are doing the same.
So… Who Is Jesus to You?
That’s the question only you can answer.
Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior, the sinless One, the risen King. He died for you. He rose for you. He invites you into life with Him—right now.
The question isn’t just Who is Jesus?
The question is: Will you follow Him?
